University of Toronto

A GeoDome Theater with Uniview serves as the main planetarium at the University of Toronto. It’s mainly used for undergraduate astronomy classes – many of the students in which are art and business majors, so the GeoDome helps them to grasp new astronomical concepts through real-time visualization.

“One of the great advantages of the live presentation software… is that we tend to solicit a lot of input, so the shows are very much tailored to the group that’s there,” said Mike Williams, Director. The GeoDome is used both onsite at the University and in outreach programs, with Public Tour nights each month and programs in local schools.
